This article is intended for Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs).
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) works by verifying your identity after signing in to Record Manager. In case a DSL’s sign-in details are compromised, MFA provides an additional layer of security by asking them to enter temporary verification codes generated by their authenticator apps. Record Manager’s MFA works with Google and Microsoft Single Sign-On, as well as locally-managed usernames and passwords.
Info
MFA is only available for DSL users.
Enable MFA
- Sign in to Record Manager.
- On the toolbar, select the Account icon > Software Settings.
- In General Settings, set Multi-Factor Authentication to Enabled (green).
- Select Save.
Reset MFA for other DSLs
You can reset MFA for other DSLs in case they forget their passwords, there was an attempt to sign in to their account by third parties, or if they’re signing in on a new device.
To reset MFA for DSLs:
- On the top navigation bar, select My Account > User Management.
- On the User Management page, find the DSL’s name and select Reset MFA.

- When the DSL signs in, they will see a QR code, which they should scan using an authenticator app like Google or Microsoft Authenticator.
