Use MFA to sign in

This article is for Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs).

MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) gives DSLs another level of online security. In Record Manager, MFA verifies your identity using your chosen Authenticator app when you sign in.

  Note

Signing in with MFA is only for DSL users.

Before you begin

If you haven’t already, enable MFA. You also need to install an authenticator app on your iOS or Android device. Authenticator apps generate codes for verifying your account.

You can use Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. For more information, see:

Add Record Manager MFA to your authenticator app

  1. Sign in to Record Manager.

    Note: If your school has enabled Single Sign-On, select either Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft. If you’re unsure of which SSO to use, contact your school’s IT support.
  2. You'll be presented with a QR code. Scan the QR code with your chosen authenticator app.
  3. Your Record Manager account will appear on the authenticator, which will generate authentication codes at 60-second intervals.

Sign in with MFA

  1. Sign in to Record Manager.
  2. You will be prompted for a six-digit code to verify your account. Enter the code generated by your authenticator app.

  3. Select Continue.

    Note: Your verification code can expire in 60 seconds or less, depending on your authenticator. If the code you’ve entered doesn’t work, wait for your authenticator to generate a new one.
