Email notifications help you stay informed about any updates within Record Manager. Email notifications can be set for the following options:
- Everyone: The default option. All users with DSL permissions will receive all types of email notification.
- Groups: Allows you to select which types of alerts each group receives.
- Year Groups: Allows you to choose which staff are notified for each year group.

House Groups: Allows you to choose which staff are notified for each House.
Note
Users with "DSL" permissions will receive all alerts based on the selected House or year group.
Configure email notification groups
- Sign in to Record Manager with your DSL account.
- At the top right of your screen, select the Account icon.
- Select Notification Settings from the dropdown.
- Toggle Yes or No to turn email notifications on or off.
- Select the Notifications To dropdown menu to change the group of staff who will receive notifications.
- Select Save. Additional settings will appear if you’ve changed the setting to Groups, Year Groups or House Groups.

The settings for General Group Notification appear when you change your email notification setting to Groups.
Set email notifications for different groups
If your groups are configured, you can select which group of staff members can receive email notification.
- Select the Group dropdown menu for the type of notification you want to send the group. You can select different notifications for Safeguarding Concerns, General Notes and Behaviour Incidents.
- Select Save.
Create a group
- Go to the Groups section.
- Enter your group name in the Group Name field.
- Select Create Group.
- Find the group you created in the Groups list, and select Edit Members to add users to the group.
- Select the checkbox next to the staff member’s name. You can add as many staff members as you’d like.
- Select Save.
Configure Year Group notifications for staff members
- Select Year Groups from the Notifications To dropdown, then select Save.
- The settings for Year Group Notifications will appear. Find the staff member you're assigning Year Group notifications to.
- Under Actions, select Edit Year Groups.
- On the Year Group pop-up, select at least one Year Group.
- Select Save. The staff member's assigned year groups will appear in the Year Groups column.
Configure House notifications for staff members
- Select House Groups from the Notifications To dropdown, then select Save.
- The settings for House Notifications will appear. Find the staff you're assigning House Notifications to.
- In the Actions column, select Edit Houses.
- On the Houses pop-up, select at least one House.
- Select Save.
