Email notifications help you stay informed about any updates within Record Manager. You can configure Email notification settings in Record Manager to better suit your staff’s needs.
Email notifications can be set to the following options:
- Everyone: The default option. All users with DSL permissions will receive every kind of email notification.
- Groups: Allow you to select which types of alerts each group receives.
- Year Groups: Allows you to choose which staff are notified for each year group.

Users with "DSL" permissions will receive all alerts based on the selected year groups.
- House Groups: Allows you to choose which staff are notified for each House.

Change email notification groups
- Sign in to Record Manager using your DSL account.
- On the top right of your screen, Select the Account icon.
- Select Notification Settings from the dropdown menu.
- Toggle Yes or No to turn email notifications on or off.
- Select the Notifications To dropdown menu to change the group of staff who will receive notifications.
- Select Save. Additional settings will appear if you’ve changed the setting to Groups, Year Groups or House Groups.
Configure Group notification
After you change your email notification setting to Groups, a new section called General Group Notification will appear.
Setting Email Notifications for Different Groups
If your groups have already been configured, you can select which group of staff members to receive each kind of email notification.
- Select the Group dropdown menu for the type of notification you want the group members to receive.
- Select Save.
Create a group
- Go to the Groups section.
- Enter your group name in the Group Name field.
- Select Create Group.
- Find the group you created in the Groups list, and select Edit Members to add users to the group.
- Select the checkbox next to the staff member’s name. You can add as many staff members as you’d like.
- Select Save.
Configure Year Group notifications
After you change your email notification setting to Year Groups, a new section called Year Group Notifications will appear.
Assign Year Groups to Staff Members
- Select Edit Year Groups on the staff member to whom you want to assign a year group. A new window will appear.
- Select as many Year Groups as required.
- Select Save.
Configuring House Groups notifications
After you change your email notification setting to House Groups, a new section called House Notifications will appear.
- Select Edit Houses on the staff member to whom you want to assign a house group. A new window will appear.
- Select as many House Groups as required.
- Select Save.
