Tags provide contextual information about students’ personal or home situations. In Student Search, tags can be used to filter your search results and display the number of students associated with each tag.
Record Manager collects tags from your school's MIS or the uploaded student list CSV.
Add tags
- Sign in to Record Manager and select Search on the left menu.
- Enter the student’s name in the Search bar. Results will appear in the Active Students tab as you type.
Tip
If the student has an Unread or Open record, you can select their name in the Dashboard.
- Select View on the student’s row. Record Manager will open the student’s profile page.
- Select Add a Tag from the toolbar and choose the tag(s) you want to add to the student’s profile. See Table 1 for the tag definitions.
- Select Add Tag. The tags will appear on the Tags field of the student’s profile page and on the student’s row in Student Search.
Tag definitions
You can assign the tags provided in the following table.
Tag | Definition |
---|---|
Child in Need (CIN) | Children under the age of 18 with disabilities or who require local authority services to achieve or maintain a reasonable standard of health and development, or to prevent significant or further harm to their health and development. |
Child Looked After (CLA) | A student is in public care (e.g., a foster home) or a residential home with parents or other relatives. |
Child Protection Plan (CPP) | A plan created by the local authority that outlines how to ensure the child's safety, improve the family's situation, and determine the necessary support. |
Child Previously Looked After (CPLA) | A child who is no longer "looked after" because they are subject to an adoption, special guardianship, or child arrangements order (including arrangements relating to with whom the child is to live, or when the child is to live with any person), or has been adopted from care outside England and Wales. |
Custom | This is a custom tag that you can create in Record Manager > Software Settings > Custom Student Tag. You can only add one custom tag. |
English as Additional Language (EAL) | This student does not speak English as their first language. |
Early Help | Taking action as soon as possible to help families with children to tackle their problems before they become more difficult to overcome. |
Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) | When a student has a significant and complex Special Educational Need or Disability that can't be met by the usual support that is available to them in their school or home setting. |
Family in Need (FIN) | Families who need help from local authority services to achieve or maintain a reasonable standard of health and development, to prevent significant harm to health or development, or are disabled. |
Gifted/Talented | A student who is naturally endowed with a high degree of ability in a specific sphere of activity or knowledge. |
Health Care | A student who is on a health care plan as they are disabled, physically ill or suffering from mental illness. |
Monitored | A student may or may not be monitored. If enabled this student will appear in the Dashboard’s Monitored section for all DSLs to see. When any user raises a concern about a student, they can see if the student is monitored or not. |
No Resource to Public Funds (NRPF) | A standard condition applied to those staying in the UK with a temporary immigration status to protect public funds. |
Pupil Premium (PP) | The sum of money given to schools each year by the government to support disadvantaged children. |
Special Educational Needs (SEN) | A student has a learning difficulty or disability which calls for special educational provision to be made for them. |
Service Child (SC) | A student whose parent or carer serves or has served in the armed forces at any point during the first 25 years of the student's life. |
FSM (Ever6) | Students who have been eligible for Free School Meals at any point in the last 6 years. |
Welfare | Indicates concerns around the student’s welfare. This also indicates the student is receiving welfare benefits from the government. |
Young Carer | Someone who regularly provides emotional and/or practical support for a family member who is disabled, physically or mentally unwell, or misuses substances. |
