Review a General Note

This article is for Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs).

Review a General Note to ensure it’s relevant, accurate, and created for the right student. General Notes provide contextual information about students and are not linked to students’ Safeguarding Concern or Behaviour Incident records.

Review a General Note

  1. Sign in to Record Manager > Dashboard.
  2. Find the General Note.
  3. Show the General Note’s details:
    1. From the Dashboard: Select View Record.
    2. From the student’s Chronology: Select Details.
  4. Record Manager will open the General Note’s details within the Chronology tab.

    Note

There is no General Notes tab on students’ profile pages.

  5. Review the General Note:
    • Review the creation details, such as its creation date and time, the reporter’s name, and verbal notice to a DSL. Verbal notices are required only for non-DSL users.
    • Check the General Note’s Category. To replace an incorrect category, select Edit and choose another category from the drop-down. See Record Manager Categories for the category definitions.
    • Check that the description in the Details field is accurate, factual, relevant, and current.
