You can add tags to provide contextual information about students’ personal or home situations. In Student Search, the added tags can be used to filter search results or show how many students are associated with each tag.
Tags are assigned to students when you:
- Manually add tags to student profiles.
- Sync tags from your school’s Management Information System (MIS).
- Add tags in the student list CSV.
Add tags manually
- Find the student via Record Manager > Search.

Sync tags from an MIS
Record Manager automatically assigns tags to students when it syncs with your school’s MIS. If you can’t find the tags you want to assign to a student within Record Manager, you need to assign them from the MIS.
Tagging students in an MIS typically requires navigating to the student or user management section, selecting the student, and applying the tags. Consult your MIS’s documentation for the specific steps.
