Update a Behaviour Incident

This article is for all Record Manager users.

This guide explains how to update an existing Behaviour Incident in Record Manager. Once you have reported a Behaviour Incident, you can add more information to the Incident report without changing its original details.

  1. Go to Record Manager > Dashboard > Behaviour Incidents tab.
  2. Find the record.
  3. Select Update for the relevant Behaviour Incident record.

    Tip

    You can review the record before adding an update by selecting View Record then the Student’s name. On the record’s toolbar, select Add Update.

  4. Complete the Add an update to Behaviour Incident form.
    1. The Name of the Student(s) will automatically populate. You can remove a student by selecting the X next to their name.
    2. Date of Update and Time of Update will automatically populate. You can choose a different date/time from the Date/Time picker if needed.
    3. From the What is the nature of your update? dropdown, select the option that applies.

      • Search for prohibited item
      • Search for prohibited item conducted by police officer

      • Enter the Details of Update.
    4. Enter the Details of Update.

      Tip

      Write as much detail as you can about what you heard, saw, did and said. Give a factual account, not your opinion.

    5. (Optional) Attach a File. You can attach copies of letters the school sent to parents, meeting notes, witness statements, images, and other documents. Record Manager accepts ten files with a maximum file size of 40 MB for each file. See Supported File Types.
    6. (Required for non-DSL users) Select Yes or No for Have you verbally informed a DSL? This question doesn't appear for DSLs.
    7. Mark any injuries on the Body Map. Select Edit, then the Body Map to mark the location of the injury. Select Save Changes.

      Tip

      You can mark additional injuries that were not included in the original report.

  5. Select Submit.
