Sometimes it may be necessary to remove a record from a student’s chronology. This can happen, for example, if a record is mistakenly created for the wrong student or if an update is added to the wrong record. This article describes the steps for deleting a record.
Reminders
- Deleted records won't be restored.
- Deleting a record also deletes all associated records and information such as updates, referrals, body maps, and attached files.
- If the record includes multiple students, it will be deleted only for the student you’ve selected and remain for the others in the record.
- A record can be deleted regardless of status. Closed records can be deleted, and students can be deleted from Closed records.
- Record deletion is an automated process and can take up to 48 hours.
Request a record’s deletion
- Sign-in to Record Manager and find the record.
- Open the record:
- From the Dashboard, select View Record. If the record has multiple students, select the student you’re removing the record for.
- From the student’s Chronology, select Details.
- Record Manager will open the record within the student's Chronology. On the record’s toolbar, select Delete.
- In the Audit Information/Delete Request pop-up, enter your reason for deleting the record.
- Select Delete. Smoothwall will receive your request and a ‘pending deletion’ indicator will appear for the record within the Dashboard and in the student's Chronology.
Important
You can still cancel your request to delete the record within 48 hours. Open the record and select Cancel Pending Deletion.
